ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT
The team at MHP Technical Ltd are fully committed to achieving the highest standards with regard to environmental matters arising out of our activities. We intend to be at the forefront of our industry through a policy of continual improvement. An integral element of our sensitivity to environmental issues is our awareness that it may affect not only our employees but also other stakeholders. We therefore give our environmental objectives equal consideration with all other organisational objectives when priorities for the allocation of resources are determined. Regular reviews of our environmental performance will be carried out to ensure that all managers, supervisors and employees meet their duties and responsibilities under this policy.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POLICY
Our organisation recognises that protection of the environment requires that all activities be conducted in a sustainable manner. We are fully committed to best environmental practice and each department takes responsibility for its own environmental performance. The Directors have acknowledged these responsibilities by publishing this environmental policy and through their staff are committed to implementing the actions stated in the policy and objectives. To achieve this, our organisation is:
- Establishing an environmental policy for which the Directors have ultimate responsibility and that forms part of the organisation’s business plans;
- Developing a comprehensive Environmental Management System (EMS) that ensures compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, codes of practice and any other standard to which the company subscribes. The organisation is also committed to the prevention of pollution. The EMS will evaluate the organisation’s environmental impacts resulting in the setting of clear objectives to establish a regime of continual improvement in environmental performance. Our organisation’s overall performance will be monitored by regular audits and annual reviews;
- Integrating environmental management with health and safety management in all areas of activity.
The EMS will evolve over time so that all key issues pertinent to the organisation will be addressed. Initially, our EMS will pay close attention to the following policy objectives:
- Conservation of energy and other natural resources used in our operations;
- Minimising our carbon footprint to the lowest practicable level;
- Minimising waste from our offices;
- Working with our suppliers to keep packaging to a minimum, consistent with protecting the safety, quality and condition of products and to use recyclable materials where possible;
- Ensuring that, in the design, building of, and alteration to premises, priority is given to the use of low or zero carbon technologies and renewable energies wherever practicable;
- Ensuring that we comply with all the relevant environmental legislation and regulations;
- Reviewing all environmental impact on a 12 monthly basis;
- Providing necessary training to staff to ensure the continual improvement of our environmental activities.
